AGENDA OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE ECONOMICS AND ECONOMETRICS SOCIETY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY TO BE HELD AT: 6:00 pm Thursday 20th September AT Gladys Marks Room Manning House OPENING AND WELCOME APOLOGIES AND LEAVES OF ABSENCE MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING & BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES ANNUAL REPORTS CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS The following amendments to the constitution are proposed: A. Changes to the composition of the executive 4.1 The Society shall have an Executive consisting of: i) A President ii) A Vice President of Sponsorship ii) A Vice President of Education iv) A Vice President of Careers v) A Secretary vi) A Treasurer vii) And up to a further 6 Executive Member(s). Section 4.1 shall be amended to read: 4.1 The Society shall have an Executive consisting of: i) A President ii) A Vice President of Sponsorship ii) A Vice President of Education iv) A Vice President of Careers v) A Secretary vi) A Treasurer vii) A Social Media and Marketing Director viii) Two Social Directors ix) A b Director vii) And up to a further 2 Executive Member(s). A section 5.5 shall be added and shall read: The Social Media and Marketing Director shall: Be responsible for managing the social media accounts of the Society in consultation with the Executive. Shall have primary responsibility for producing and distributing marketing material for the Society. A section 5.6 shall be added and shall read: The Social Directors shall: Be responsible for planning and delivering social events for the Society. Liase with the Social Media and Marketing Director in relation to promoting the Society’s social events. A section 5.7 shall be added and shall read: 5.7 The Publications Director shall: i) Be responsible for planning and delivering publications that further the aims of the Society. ii) Liase with the Social Media and Marketing Director in relation to promoting the Society’s publications. iii) Where a publication relates to education, careers or sponsorship, liase with the Vice President(s) to whose portfolio the publication relates. Policies to ensure the integrity of EcoSoc elections 9.2 Only Ordinary Members, and Honorary Members who would otherwise be eligible for Ordinary Membership, shall be eligible to be candidates for election or to vote in the election. Amend to: 9.2 Only Ordinary Members, and Honorary Members who would otherwise be eligible for Ordinary Membership, shall be eligible to be candidates for election or to vote in the election with two exceptions; only individuals who have served on the immediate past executive from the preceding financial year shall be eligible candidates for the roles of President and Secretary. ELECTION OF EXECUTIVES Nomination cut off date: 6:00 pm Wednesday 19th September All nominations to be sent to usyd.ecosoc@gmail.com Appointment of Returning Officer If Constitutional Amendment A (‘changes to the composition of the executive’) is passed by a two-thirds majority, then nominations will be considered and voted on for the following positions: President Vice President (Sponsorship) Vice President (Education) Vice President (Careers) Secretary Treasurer Social Media and Marketing Director Two (2) Social Directors Publications Director Up to two (2) General Executive Members If Constitutional Amendment A (‘changes to the composition of the executive’) is not passed by a two-thirds majority, then nominations will be considered and voted on for the following positions: President Vice President (Sponsorship) Vice President (Education) Vice President (Careers) Secretary Treasurer Up to six (6) General Executive Members GENERAL BUSINESS DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING CLOSE OF MEETING
