What is Honorary Life Membership?
In accordance with article 5.2.4 of the USU Constitution the Board may confer Honorary Life Membership by Special Resolution upon any person who has made an extraordinary contribution to the Union or the University community. It is our highest award and only 4 are given out each year.
Recipients will have made an outstanding contribution over a considerable period of time by assisting the Union in the execution of its aims, and working towards the fulfillment of its vision and mission.
Honorary Life Membership offers members an opportunity to put forward someone they feel is worthy of this recognition.
Past recipients include Daphne Kok, Michael Kirby, Adam Spencer, Jane Spring, Julian Morrow, Craig Reucassel, Dame Marie Bashir and Bohdan Bilinsky.
