Bright Ideas is the USU's grants program for emerging creative talent at USyd.
Each year the USU hand picks, nurtures and presents some of USyd's most exciting rising stars from the creative and cultural community on campus to showcase and support the best of student talent. The program spans all creative and cultural disciplines including fashion, music, theatre, filmmaking, writing, art, food, architecture, environment and humanitarian.

What’s your Bright Idea?
You can achieve amazing things with a Bright Ideas Student Project Grant, and any proposal that supports the aims of the program is eligible and will be considered to receive funding!
You might want to illuminate JFR plaza with a stunning light display, spark conversation with an outdoor poetry and spoken word competition, kick start a charity to help disadvantaged students, or perhaps bring a leading academic in your field of study to campus for a public guest lecture – don’t be afraid to think outside the box!

Enable the pursuit of extra-curricular projects that are beyond the scope of existing USU programs and events.
Encourage the highest standard of creativity and excellence.
