The USU’s annual photography competition in collaboration with Verge Gallery is here and this year’s theme is ‘Memory Bank’. Students are given the opportunity to capture their own memories that remind them of their own experiences and stories as students at USYD.
These unique memories can be from any seemingly mundane experience of everyday student life, whether it be sprinting from Redfern to make that early morning tutorial or watching pesky ibises a.k.a the great bin chicken prey on unsuspecting first years eating lunch in the Quad.
Student life at USYD is filled with unique experiences and endless opportunities that make a lasting impression and this competition will form a collective memory bank of the diverse stories shared by students.
Entry requirements for the competition are that photo entries are submitted through Instagram, with a photo blurb with a maximum of 25 words and have the required hashtag #usuexposure and make sure to tag @usuaccess. The top entries chosen by Verge Gallery will then be posted on USU’s Facebook page so that the public can vote for their favourite photos. The most voted photos will be displayed at Laneway Café and Manning Bar and the final winners will be selected by professional judges to win big!
Submissions for the competition open on August 6th and will close on August 27th 2018, so start snapping away to secure your entry into USU Exposure: Memory Bank 2018.
