The Board of Directors is composed of 14 Directors, including 11 student Directors elected at the annual USU Elections, two Senate-appointed Directors and the Immediate Past President.

USU Board of Directors are collectively responsible for the First Nations Portfolio and the Disabilities Portfolio.

Meetings of the Board of Directors are where the operational and strategic business of the USU is discussed. At each meeting, there is an agenda item called ‘Open Question Time’, which is an opportunity for USU Members to bring items to the attention of the President and Board of Directors. All USU Members are welcome to attend and observe this session of the meeting. Special meetings of the Board of Directors are conducted in accordance with the Constitution and Regulations. All meetings are hosted from in-person locations at the Camperdown campus and online.

  • Thursday 24 September 2026 at Cullen Room, Holme Building

  • Thursday 29 October 2026 at USU Hub, Wentworth Building

  • Thursday 26 November 2026 at USU Hub, Wentworth Building

  • Thursday 10 December 2026 at Cullen Room, Holme Building (if required)

Transparency

The Board supports transparency and member participation in the following ways:

  • Each ordinary Board meeting includes a public session that USU Members may attend

  • Public sessions of ordinary Board meetings are conducted in person and online via Zoom, making them more accessible to all members of USU

  • Members attending the public session may ask questions about USU affairs during Open Question Time

  • Student media representatives are invited to attend public Board sessions

  • Minutes of the public session are published online after they have been approved

  • The President’s Report presented to the public session is published online with the approved minutes
